In early 19th century London, high society young ladies were presented to eligible bachelors at debutante balls known as the ton. Lady Alexandra Stafford should have been "a catch," but she was smart and not afraid to express her opinions in front of anyone. That kind of boldness scared off many of her suitors which was perfectly fine with her. Marriage was not something she was looking forward to. But when her childhood friend's father mysteriously dies, she finds herself uncovering secrets of espionage, treason, and murder and discovers love along the way.
Hornets Book Buzz was created to let students and families of Flour Bluff Junior High know about the newest books available for checkout from their FBJH Library.

All the Broken Pieces by Ann E. Burg
12-year-old Matt is a casualty of war, but not in the usual sense. You see he was airlifted out of Vietnam two years earlier and brought to the United States after his mother realizes she can no longer take care of him. Now that he is in the US living with a new family, he has to figure out a way to fit in and "forget" everything he left behind. Luckily for him, baseball is a universal game allowing "all the broken pieces" to fall where they may.
